Meet Joya Genzola 'The Bini-Brainy ng Negros Occidental'

Sumali si Joya Genzola sa PBB dahil sa bet ng barkada.

“Everything actually started as a joke. Trip trip lang. Trip lang ng barkada. Join ka nga! At first I wasn’t really seryoso. After that naging in and in hanggang nandito na ako,” sabi ng achiever na cum laude and nursing graduate at 7th placer sa Nursing Licensure exam. Pagpapatuloy niya, sinabi ng kanyang mga kaibigan na she has what it takes to be a housemate. Hindi raw siya ang typical na nerdy dahil funny pero matalino.


Nang tanungin siya kung ano ang goal niya sa pagpasok sa bahay, ang matatas niyang sagot, “I will prove myself na win or lose at the end of the day I think my mission, my goal here is parang inspire the young people that you can achieve something if you put your mind into your heart.” At since isa siyang psychiatric nurse, may advantage daw siya on how to better deal with all kinds of people. Naging teacher din siya at nang magpaalam daw siya sa kanilang dean na sasali siya sa PBB, may bilin lang sa kanya ang dean. “I just remember my dean telling me, ‘basta huwag ka lang mag-two piece don.’ Kasi I’m from a Catholic school and then I taught there for two years. Kahit papano the students there are still my students. ‘Okay I’ll try,’ sabi ko. Baka paglabas ko wala na akong lisensya,” natatawa niyang sabi.

Committed na rin daw siya at hindi raw sang-ayon ang boyfriend noong una. “He was telling me, ‘Do you really want to join?’ Later on he got the hang of it, he was supportive all the way na rin.” Very confident din si Joya sa pagsasabing hindi siya insecure kahit na medyo matagal na hindi sila magkikita ng boyfriend niya. Aniya, very confident siya na hihintayin siya ng kanyang boyfriend paglabas ng bahay.
